Brazil wins FIFA vote
FIFA have announced that Brazil will be the hosts for the 2014 soccer World Cup, which will be a great opportunity for Brazil, but also a huge challenge.
The country will need to build and re-build every stadium, and prepare for the event watched by more people in the world than any other event.

Voice for Change is very excited by the selection of Brazil as World Cup hosts, and we will be building on the publicity and interest generated all over the world in the build-up to the 2014 World Cup finals.

Curitiba is sure to be one of the cities which will host matches, so our team in Brasil and supporters will be in a great position to visit the World Cup and see matches, as well as getting to know the country better, and the situation of street children there.

There is less than a week to go before the next team from the UK flies off from Norwich and Birmingham airports via Amsterdam to sao Paulo and on to Curitiba for two weeks of action with the VfCBrasil team.

In fact, only 5 days remain before the 20+ hours journey begins for Carl and Kate Love from Uppingham, Richard and Audrey Akers, Des and Pauline Mathias, and Margaret Green from Solihull, Becca Blanch from Norwich - and Keith and Denise Colman from Bawdeswell, north Norfolk.

We are being joined a couple of days later by Neil Green, from Westhilldirect.com, one of our most loyal commercial sponsors - and Curtis Hinds from Toronto, Canada, who received the original vision for Voice for Change and was one of the founding trustees of the charity, which has a team of 9 dedicated people working out in Curitiba.

We will post progress of our team's trip daily on this blog, and let you see pictures and other info about the work we are doing!

In the meantime, if you want to see what has hapened before, read on! And try to click onto www.youtube.com/voiceforchange for our latest video offering!

If you are getting ready to buy Christmas cards, and you would like to support VfC, you can do so by clicking on www.charitygiving.co.uk/shop and choosing Voice for Change as your favourite charity. The cards are really good, and good value too, and we get £1 for every pack you buy! So please have a look!

We have a number of targets and objectives which we want to meet when we go, and we will fill you in on these as the days go by ... in the meantime, we are trying to keep our luggage within the klm 20kg allowance!!
